Survey poll
Adults Abused as Children Worldwide
Statistics reveal only the reported abuse.
We ask how many more are out there, who never had their abuse reported,
or even told anyone how they were abused in childhood.
|
To change generations of imprinted abuse, we must bring awareness to the reality of abuse and expose how many people really were abused in childhood. As long as the childhood abused adult remains injured, carries the stigma of shame and guilt, the cycle of violence will continue. Only if the traumatized adult has a chance to heal its early-inflicted mental wounds, the repetition of violence and abuse is interrupted. In the name of human rights, the childhood-traumatized adults must be publicly acknowledged and validated. So far, only the Irish government has recognized adults who were abused as children, in 2002. The rest of the world still ignores the fact that adults abused as children exist, denies their rights while ignoring the experienced childhood trauma and their pain and the need to heal these early inflicted mental wounds.
